Steve Schaefer

My name is Steve Schaefer and I have worked for Clemens & Associates as a Truck Insurance Agent in our Jerseyville, IL office since 1999. I’m truly thankful for the opportunity to meet truckers from all over the Midwest and many have become very close friends. Truck drivers are among the hardest working individuals I know. Every morsal of food, life saving medicines, medical supplies, clothing, building materials, and every grain of salt has been transported in a truck. As it is often said, “Without Trucks, America Stops”. Actually, without truck drivers, the world stops.
I graduated from Carlinville, IL High School in 1984, and Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in 1988. I married my wife Ellen who is from Jerseyville, IL in 1992, and we have been happily married for more than 32 years. We have 2 kids; a daughter Sydney who resides in St. Louis, MO and our son Zachary who resides in Normal, IL. Over the years I have been a scout leader with the Boy Scouts of America, a board member of Westlake Country Club in Jerseyville, IL, and an active member at The First Baptist Church of Jerseyville. I enjoy the outdoors, golfing, camping, hunting, fishing, and spending time with my family and friends. I have hobbies such as wood-working, crafting, and sewing golf headcovers for friends and for fundraisers. I also enjoy spending time at my cabin on a small lake in Carlinville. My wife and I enjoy family vacations, traveling, camping, and annual trips to The Lake of The Ozarks.
