What is the Difference Between General Liability and Professional Liability Insurance?
General liability typically insures against claims of bodily/personal injury (i.e. slips, trips and falls) or property damage. These losses usually involve property you own/rent/occupy or a service you offer.
Professional liability covers negligence pertaining to your professional services provided (i.e. advice or guidance). These losses are usually monetary in nature and are caused through negligence in performing or failing to perform a service. This coverage is also known as errors & omissions (E&O).
