What if I Borrow a Trailer?
This is a question that we get a lot from our truckers. If you borrow a trailer from a friend or rent it from a dealer, you need to have the trailer listed on your policy for proper coverage. Most of our policies are written on a “Scheduled Auto Policy” which means if the equipment is not listed on the policy then it will not be covered in the event of a claim.
Another option for your company is to schedule a “Non-Owned Trailer” and insure it to the value of the most expensive trailer you would lease/borrow. When you list a Non-Owned trailer you can pull any trailer that you do not own up to that value, and you do not need to call us each time you pull a different trailer.
Please contact us with any questions in regards to this or any other questions you have about your trucking operation.
